Welcome to PPS Food Service

Ever wonder the value of the school lunch? Are you tired of packing your child’s lunch? On average, the bagged lunch you are making every day will cost you on $3.52 (using Meijer prices in Michigan). This year, lunch at Portland Public Schools will cost $2.60 for Elementary $2.85 at the High School or $4.00 for the combo meal with fries. Save time and money this school year and buy your child a nutritious and delicious lunch with us.

Free and Reduced School Meals Information

Children need healthy meals to learn. Portland Public Schools offers healthy meals every school day. Check out the information below for answers to questions about free and reduced-price meals as well as the Free and Reduced-Price Meals Application.

School Breakfast Outreach

Breakfast is available at eligible schools only:

Portland High School - 7:20-7:45 a.m. Westwood Elementary - 8:25-8:45 a.m.
Portland Middle School - 7:25-7:50 a.m. Oakwood Elementary - 8:30-9:00 a.m.

Secondary Breakfast Price is $1.50
Elementary Breakfast Price is $1.25
Reduced Breakfast Price is $0.30

All students qualifying for free or reduced lunch also qualify for free or reduced breakfast.

Milk without a meal is not free and may be purchased for $0.60 (student must have funds in their account).

Special Dietary Request Form

If you have a special dietary request based on a disability that restricts your student's diet, please use this form to request a dietary accommodation.

 

Menus and Nutrition Facts at Your Fingertips

Chartwells K12 continues to bring technology to the forefront of the dining experience to help students and their parents prioritize healthy food choices and understand ingredients so they can help protect children from allergic reactions. Through Nutrislice, an innovative app, students, parents and faculty have access to school menus, including nutrition information, allergens and photos. Nutrislice can be downloaded for free from the App store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and is available on desktop and mobile devices. Menus are also available at https://portland.nutrislice.com.
